[EN] Whoever wants a proof that not all food is bad in the UK, neither there is a poor choice of sortiments at hand, I full-heartedly recommend the Taj the Grocer store from Brighton. Generally, the quality of products is not different from the tasteless things found in other stores in the UK, all over Old Continent, and even Romania. But it’s worth looking for pleasant surprises on this store’s shelves. [RO] Oricui vrea o dovadă că nu toată mâncarea este proastă în UK şi nici nu ai puţine sortimente la îndemână din care să alege, îi recomand din toată inima magazinul Taj the Grocer din Brighton. În general, calitatea produselor nu este diferită de lucrurile insipide găsite în alte magazine din UK, din tot Bătrânul Continent şi chiar din România. Dar merită să cauţi surpize plăcute pe rafturile acestuia.

[EN] The good part is that you could try a different God-given fruit/vegetable every day for about a couple of months. And, let’s not forget that I’m writing this in the month of March! As for the canned stuff, I assume one could try a different thing each day of the year. Undoubtedly, everything for everyone from Europe, UK, China, India, the Arab world, Africa, South America... [RO] Partea bună este că poţi încerca un fruct/legumă lăsat(ă) de Dumnezeu în fiecare zi pentru vreo două luni. Şi să nu uităm că scriu asta în luna martie! Cât despre chestiile în conservă, bănuiesc că poţi încerca altceva în fiecare zi a anului. Fără îndoială, de toate pentru toţi – din Europa, UK, China, India, lumea arabă, Africa, America de Sud...

Four apples cost £ 1, three pears cost £ 1 as well, a kilo of ordinary tomatoes is £ 2.99, a pineapple – £ 1.19, a kilo of bananas – £ 1.29, two bunches of radish – £ 1. Different sorts of potatoes are all £ 1 per kilo, while a kilo of chili peppers – £ 10, if they come from the Netherlands or £ 12 – if brought from Thailand. [RO] Acum aşezaţi-vă şi respiraţi adânc pentru dureroasa listă de preţuri. Patru mere costă £ 1, trei pere tot £ 1, un kil de roşii obişnuite face £ 2.99, un ananas – £ 1.19, un kil de banane – £ 1.29, două legături de ridichi – £ 1. Diferite soiuri de cartofi sunt toate £ 1 la kil, iar un kil de ardei iuţi – £ 10 dacă vin din Olanda sau £ 12 – dacă sunt aduşi din Thailanda.

[EN] Among the few things bellow one pound – a bunch of mint, sold for only (?!) 79 pence. As for prices that could make a Romanian housewife faint, here are just two: a kilo of grapes – £ 4.99, and kilo of cherry tomatoes – £ 7.50!!! [RO] Printre puţinele lucruri sub o liră – o legătură de mentă, vândută pentru numai (?!) 79 pence. Cât despre preţuri care ar putea face o gospodină din România să leşine, iată numai două: un kil de struguri – £ 4.99, iar un kil de roşioare cât cireaşa – £ 7.50!!!
