As far as I could tell then, I didn’t notice anything strange about it, however, this station was included among “the most dilapidated in the UK” by the Transport Secretary.
It seems that passengers need more seats, cleaner toilets & platforms, car & bike parking facilities, and sometimes even real-time information about the trains.
It’s funny that one of the reasons of dissatisfaction about these stations was that passengers have to wait on wind-swept platforms. Well, at least the wind may take away the bad smells which are so common in Romanian stations :-)
.
Now seriously, I also witnessed that the huge discrepancy between little stations and big stations in the UK is about the same as in Romania.
.
Apart from being amazed with the British civility in big stations, be prepared for any nasty surprises in little ones – even stations with no one to ask questions to about your journey!
