[EN] You can take a bicycle with you on a British train (at least on Southern Railway)… [RO] Îţi poţi lua bicicleta cu tine într-un tren britanic (cel puţin cu Southern Railway)...

[EN] …but could do the same thing on a bus in the USA (at least in Des Moines, Iowa). [RO] …dar ai putea face acelaşi lucru într-un autobuz din SUA (cel puţin în Des Moines, Iowa).

Unfortunately, the following picture might be representative for what might happen in Romania. Maybe that's why we don't use bicycles so much...

I'm afraid this is a prejudiced idea; enough Romanians like cycling, and many would use a bike everyday should cities in this country be more 'bike-friendly' :-)

Undoubtedly, this already happens to some bikers who are seen as a 'threat' - by both drivers & older people - even when they use their especially designated bicycle lanes.

In another episode, of either this series or more likely in "Chestii d-astea numai la...", I will try to bring into discussion the problem of vandalised bicycles in Britain.

I've got some pictures as evidence, my reader C.L. sent me one as well, and you may also notice this peculiar situation during your trip to Birmingham.
